After over 30 years, Light-Works will no longer be processing film. Thank you for your years of patronage.
The rapid decline of film-based photography is due to the equally rapid acceptance of digital photography. In the last ten years, the volume of film at Light-Works has declined from a past average roll count of 110 roll per day to a current roll count of 5 rolls per day. While we have reduced the number of film runs from 3 times per day to 2 times per week, we are experiencing a multitude of issues:
• economic loss
• dwindling availability of quality materials and supplies
• processing inconsistency due to chemical instability.
Most photographers have embraced digital photography, however, some continue to choose film. For these diehards, we offer our apologies. We have compiled a list of recommended film processing providers below. Even though they are not local, the quality of their work and their commitment to film is notable.
